About Us

Pastor Derek G. Wight is a fifth generation Pentecostal who graduated from Zion Bible Institute in 1993 and served as a revival evangelist for several years.  In 2002, God led him to establish Rock of Refuge Tabernacle in Middletown, CT, whose overseer is pastor Jim Cymbala of Brooklyn Tabernacle in NY.

We see our church as a place to worship, to learn about Jesus, and to grow together.  It is a place to find encouragement when weathering a storm, a place to share life's blessings, and a place to find new friends.  We hope to get to know you better.  Our door is always open.
